The Emerson epro PR6424/01CS is a non-contact eddy current sensor built for high-precision machinery protection. Utilizing a 12mm tip, it delivers a 4mm linear measurement range, double the capacity of standard 8mm probes. This "CS" variant ensures compliance with specific regional industrial standards. We supply this unit as 100% Brand New and Original with full factory certification.
PR6424: 12mm tip diameter series for extended range displacement.
01: Standard 1.0m integrated armored cable and M14x1.5 mounting thread.
CS: Regional/Industrial certification suffix for specific market compliance.
Measurement Type: Non-contact eddy current.
Linear Range: 4.0 mm (typically 1.0 mm to 5.0 mm gap).
Frequency Response: 0 Hz to 10 kHz.
Target Material: Ferromagnetic steel (AISI 4140).
Environmental Rating: IP68 hermetically sealed head; oil and pressure resistant.
Operating Temp: Up to 180°C at the sensor tip.
The PR6424/01CS specializes in tracking large-scale thermal growth (differential expansion) and axial thrust position in massive steam or gas turbines. The 12mm tip generates a broad electromagnetic field that maintains linearity over a wide 4mm span, preventing "out-of-range" data during extreme shaft shifts. Its stainless steel armored cable survives the turbulent, oil-saturated conditions within bearing housings, while the non-contact design ensures zero mechanical wear on either the sensor or the rotating shaft.
Why use a 12mm tip instead of 8mm?The 12mm tip provides a 4mm range. Standard 8mm sensors only offer 2mm, which is often insufficient for monitoring the axial float of large rotors.
Is the "CS" suffix vital for performance?Technically, it matches the PR6424 standard performance, but the "CS" designation is mandatory for projects requiring specific regional safety and quality documentation.
Can I shorten the 1.0m armored cable? No. Cutting the cable changes the electrical impedance and destroys the sensor's calibration.
Does it work with any shaft material? It is factory-calibrated for AISI 4140 steel. Using other alloys requires a specific driver recalibration to account for different magnetic properties.
