The RET615E enhanced transformer protection relay is deployed within high-reliability infrastructure, heavy process industrial plants, data center substations, and utility transmission bays. In these high-demand applications, maintaining power continuity while shielding multi-million dollar transformer windings from fault currents is vital. The RET615E is installed inside main switchgear panels to serve as the primary line guard. It continuously samples current phases on both sides of a two-winding transformer. If an internal transformer failure occurs, or if its optional optical sensors detect an arc flash inside the switchboard cabinet, the relay acts immediately. It triggers its high-speed output contacts to open the circuit breaker in milliseconds, cutting off electrical energy before widespread thermal damage can spread.
