The IMDSI02 is a high-density Digital Input Slave Module engineered by ABB Bailey for the Symphony Harmony and Infi 90 distributed control systems. This module serves as the primary interface for bringing discrete field signals—such as limit switch statuses, push-button activations, and relay contacts—into the digital control environment.
Input Capacity: Provides 16 discrete digital input channels per module.
Input Voltage Range: Designed for 24 VDC nominal field signals (operational range typically 18 to 30 VDC).
Isolation Protection: Features 1500 Vrms galvanic isolation between the field-side circuitry and the system logic to prevent ground loops.
Current Consumption: Rated at 350 mA (typical) from the +5 VDC system backplane.
Power Dissipation: Approximately 2.5 Watts under standard operating conditions.
Input Filtering: Integrated hardware filtering with a 5ms to 10ms time constant to suppress transient noise.
Address Configuration: On-board dip switches for unique slave address identification on the I/O Expander Bus.
Module Connection: Standard Infi 90 module faceplate with status LEDs and a rear P1/P2/P3 connector interface.
The IMDSI02 is housed in a standard Module Mounting Unit (MMU) and communicates with a Master Module (such as an IMMFP12) via the I/O Expander Bus. For real-time troubleshooting, the front panel includes a "Status" LED. A green light indicates the module has passed its internal power-on self-test (POST) and is communicating correctly with the master. A red light signifies a hardware fault or a communication timeout, allowing maintenance engineers to quickly identify and replace faulty hardware without extensive bus analysis
